On October 27-28 the international conference titled "Contemporary Methods of Diagnostics in Pathologic Anatomy: Problems and Prospects" was held at the Dmitry Rogachev Federal Scientific-Clinical Center of Children's of Hematology, Oncology and Immunology in Moscow.

This event was held for experts of one of Russia's main health standards establishments (Rospotrebnadzora), treatment-and-prophylactic organizations, and test laboratory centers. Lectures and practical trainings were given for revealing legionella. There were more than 350 participants and it took place at the Federal Center of Hygiene and Epidemiology (Moscow) under the direction of the laboratories managing bacteriologist Irina Novokshenova.

The workflow in the clinical pathology is revolutionized, and the traditional diagnosis in microscope is replaced largely by digital images, which the pathologist examines direct on the computer screen. Increased patient safety and faster response times, with better use of resources in a LEAN influenced workflow is the goal. The efficiency should be done with a newely purchased IT support system from Software Point.

On October 5-6th BioVitrum took part in the 3rd Embryological symposium of the All-Russia scientific organization of pathologists, histologists, and embryologists.

In September 17-20^th BioVitrum took part in the annual conference "DiaMa: Ways to perfect activity in diagnostic centres" in Irkutsk, Russia. This year was the 20^th anniversary of the conference for the Association of Advisory-Diagnostic Centres. The theme of this year's conference was "Modern quality management problems of medical aid".

On September 2nd a seminar devoted to the problems of morphological diagnostics in uropathology took place with the support of BioVitrum in the pathological anatomy department of Dr. O.K. Hmelnitskogo at the Post-Graduate Medical Academy of St. Petersburg, Russia.

On June 22-23 BioVitrum and its partner Oxoid (England, part of Thermo Scientific) participated in the All-Russian practical-scientific conference on medical mycology. More than 400 specialists gathered for this conference. BioVitrum's Microbiology team spent the day demonstrating their product portfolio and collecting information while Oxoid's Microbiology specialists Michelle Holland and Ricardo Almeida presented scientific reports.

On June 2nd BioVitrum's Microbiology department organized a seminar for local bacteriologists at its St. Petersburg headquarters. The presentations and demonstrations took place at BioVitrum's own facilities and showroom. The participants included:

On June 1st in St. Petersburg BioVitrum participated in the 7th National Congress of "Controversies in Modern Obstetrics" at the D. O. Ott Research Institute of Obstetrics and Gynecology of the North-West Department of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences. The pathomorphology section was represented with an extensive practical-scientific program.

BioVitrum's Microbiology department recently organized a workshop in Rostov-on-Don at the Research Institute of Tokology and Pediatrics. The event took place on May 25. We gathered 15 bacteriologists from some of the main diagnostic centers, regional and city hospitals, 2 private clinics, and the Anti-plague Research Institute of the Rostov region.
