The conference program consisted of two days: the first day was devoted to scientific reports of leading Russian scientists presenting their experience and results of their work on modern equipment of optical and electron microscopy. The main topics of reports presented at the conference were: visualization of structures and processes in living cells using fluorescent proteins; higher levels of chromatin organization and DNA replication (correlation SIM-TEM); structural and functional organization of connective tissue; Fluorescent laser scanning microscopy of tumors with genetically-encoded and exogenous fluorophores. 

Also representatives of foreign manufacturers unveiled principles of complex optical systems.

The second day had a more practical direction with a rich program: demonstrations of Nikon and Andor technology and teaching the basics of image acquisition and the main features of the software systems on Nikon and Andor. Participants were allowed to immediately evaluate the work systems using sample experiments. They were very impressed with the results. Live experiments on Nikon's N-STORM system also took place which was the first time in Russia as part of practical training.

The conference aroused great interest among the scientific community and its visitors were heads of laboratories, representatives from departments of Biophysics, Microbiology and Biochemistry, Medical students, Researchers and many others.

All participants were awarded certificates of training for Nikon and Andor systems.
