BioVitrum took part in the V International Symposium “TOPICAL PROBLEMS OF BIOPHOTONICS – 2015”

On the 20-24th of July, 2015 BioVitrum participated in the V International Symposium “TOPICAL PROBLEMS OF BIOPHOTONICS – 2015”. This scientific event gathered more than 200 specialists in Biophotonics from Russia and abroad.

Program of the symposium consisted of sectional oral reports, poster sessions on advanced applications of Biophotonics in medicine and plenary lectures on topical problems in Biophotonics

The Symposium included three parallel Topical Conferences:

  • Optical Bioimaging
  • Nanobiophotonics
  • Novel Laser Applications in Biomedicine

and two Workshops:

  • Clinical Biophotonics
  • Tumor and stem cells biology

On the symposium BioVitrum was presented by Olga Sidorenko, Life Science Department product manager “BioVitrum” Ltd. She told about modern solutions for cell research and integrated cell culture observation systems. Olga demonstrated advantages and methods of use of Nikon's BioStation CT. This BioStation provides a stable environment so that the cultures don't suffer while they are being imaged and allowing for a complete trace of the same live cells, including stem cells. BioStation CT houses a microscope and camera within the Incubator. It automatically captures the images of cells being culture; there is no need to remove the vessel from the incubator and move it to the microscope.

The Symposium was held on board a comfortable boat "Konstantin Korotkov". The format of the Symposium and the informal atmosphere of the river cruise stimulated active discussions and links between scholars.
