The conference took place from 5-6 December and was organized by the Federal Medical and Biology Agency, the Federal Scientific-Clinical Center of Specialized Medical Aid and Technologies (FMBA), the Center of Science of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Perinatology of the Russian Ministry of Health.  Participants included the leading Russian scientists and clinical physicians in the fields of regenerative medicine.

The basic questions which were considered at the conference:

• Problems of regenerative medicine in Russia and the world.

• Experimental aspects of application of cellular technologies and tissue engineering on various models of animal diseases.

• Cellular technologies and tissue engineering in the treatment of head and spinal cord injuries.

• Regenerative medicine in cardiology.

• Cellular technologies in oncology and hematology.

• Regenerative medicine in the treatment of diabetes and endocrine pathology (adiposity etc.).

• Tissue engineering and artificial organs.

• Regenerative medicine in gynecology and perinatology.

 

After the conference there was a round table discussion “the Urgency of creating a Russian society of regenerative medicine”.

The creation of this society will allow more intense development of regenerative medicine in Russia, participation in lawmaking, and will strengthen communication with foreign colleagues and communities.
