BioVitrum took part in an international conference “Key questions in the diagnosis and treatment of tumors in children”

The Russian Children’s Clinical Hospital hosted a conference on “Key questions in the diagnosis and treatment of tumors in children” on November 13th and 14th, 2014 in order to discuss key research and clinical questions on the topic. This scientific event brought together leading Russian and international experts, who shared their experience and knowledge in the diagnosis and treatment of children with neoplastic diseases of the skeletal system.

The goal of the conference was to discuss critical issues in interdisciplinary communication between specialists in pathology, radiology, surgery and oncology, in order to increase the pace of diagnosis, treatment and further diagnostic testing.

BioVitrum showcased its newest equipment and turnkey solutions for laboratories and pathologic services at its booth. Wholescale adaptation of equipment, reagents and consumables from our catalog yields a broad standardization of diagnostic results, improves the quality and quantity of biomedical investigations, and simplifies specialist throughput.

The conference also highlighted modern aspects in the diagnosis and surgical treatment of bone tumors. Dr. Daniel Vanel, professor and consulting radiologist at the Rizzoli Orthopedic Institute in Bologna, Italy, discussed breakthroughs in the radiation diagnosis of neoplastic diseases in bone. An additional section was devoted to the nature of hematopoietic bone tumors, with a special focus on fibrous dysplasia of the maxillofacial region.

Keynote speeches were given by several world leaders in medical interdisciplinary communication: Michael Klein (USA), Daniel Vanel (Italy), Laura Kampanachi (Italy) and Dieter Harms (Germany). Russian experts presenting at the conference included V. A. Strykov, A. V. Lopatin, V. V. Fohtin, D.V. Rogozhin, D. M. Konovalov, I. V. Bulycheva and many others. The conference was attended by over 70 people from across the Russian Federation.
