BioVitrum took active part in the Russian-Chinese Scientific Conference on Medical Microbiology and Clinical Mycology (XVIII Kashkin Readings)

The Russian-Chinese Scientific Conference on Medical Microbiology and Clinical Mycology (XVIII Kashkin Readings) was held in Saint-Petersburg on 09-11th June 2015.

This year the conference was co-organized by the cooperation with Association of Sino-Russian Medical Universities (ASRMU) and Harbin Medical University (China). The scientific event gathered more than 1000 specialists in microbiology, clinical mycology and dermatovenerology from Russia, CIS countries, China and Europe.

 Plenary meetings, satellite symposiums, workshops and exhibition were held during the conference.

The aim of the conference was to discuss the latest achievements of genomics, proteomics, transcriptomics and metabolomics, share the experience and to train talented young scientists. The scientific platform was served as a basis for development of translational medicine, personalized approaches to the therapy of infectious diseases and preventive measures

The following special topics will be in focus:

  • New technologies in medical microbiology;
  • Molecular epidemiology;
  • Globalization and microbial resistance;
  • Diagnostics and treatment of infections in immunocompromised patients;
  • Health-Care Associated Infections;
  • Diagnosis of especially dangerous infections;
  • Epidemiology of mycoses – new risk groups;

  • Infections in Dermatovenereology practice;
  • Etiological agents of rare, new and re-emerging infections;
  • Microorganisms – biodestructors of hospitals and dwellings;
  • Issues and challenges in training of Medical Microbiologists. New technologies in microbiology teaching;
  • Genomics and proteomics in clinical microbiology.

Taking into account the import substitution program the CEO of “Sredoff”, Nazariy Kovivchak, was presented ready-made Russian production nutrient media for screening in hospital infections.

Within the framework of the conference there was carried out the exhibition of new equipment and reagents for microbiological diagnostics and production of pharmaceutical companies.

 BioVitrum took part in the exhibition and presented Oxoid production for bacteriological laboratories and bioMerieux complex equipment for microbiology laboratories. Great interest was focused on the Signal blood culture system (Oxoid), Remel diagnostic Kits and own production media of Sredoff. On the BioVitrum’s booth was demonstrated a new laboratory information system - CGM Analityx with the opportunity of testing it and equipment for cleaning and disinfection of Miele – a novelty in the line of general laboratory equipment.
