        BioVitrum organized and ran a seminar titled “Methods for the optimization of microbiological diagnosis of nonspecific infections” at the Kaluga Medical College on November 19^th, 2014. This seminar brought together more than 30 specialists from bacteriological laboratories of the Kaluga region.

 

      The centerpiece of the seminar was a lecture titled “Methods for the optimization of microbiological diagnosis of nonspecific infections", presented by Mikhail Mikhailovich Zubkov, PhD, head of the bacteriological laboratory at Moscow cancer hospital №62 and Anna Kurakova a specialist of the microbiology group at BioVitrum.

 

Further lectures discussed the following topics:

- "Improvements in the microbiological diagnosis of bacterial, purulent meningitis," Shabalin L. E., bacteriologist at the Kaluga Oblast Ministry of Health;

- "Epidemiologic status of influenza in the Russian Federation and work with biomaterial derived from a patient with suspected Ebola," Petkov E.A., epidemiologist of GBUZKO "KOKB №2".

  The seminar included a practical demonstration of products by Oxoid (UK).
