BioVitrum ran a seminar on “Methods for the optimization of microbiological diagnosis of nonspecific infections"

        BioVitrum organized and ran a seminar titled “Methods for the optimization of microbiological diagnosis of nonspecific infections” at the Kaluga Medical College on November 19th, 2014. This seminar brought together more than 30 specialists from bacteriological laboratories of the Kaluga region.

 

      The centerpiece of the seminar was a lecture titled “Methods for the optimization of microbiological diagnosis of nonspecific infections", presented by Mikhail Mikhailovich Zubkov, PhD, head of the bacteriological laboratory at Moscow cancer hospital №62 and Anna Kurakova a specialist of the microbiology group at BioVitrum.

 

Further lectures discussed the following topics:

- "Improvements in the microbiological diagnosis of bacterial, purulent meningitis," Shabalin L. E., bacteriologist at the Kaluga Oblast Ministry of Health;

- "Epidemiologic status of influenza in the Russian Federation and work with biomaterial derived from a patient with suspected Ebola," Petkov E.A., epidemiologist of GBUZKO "KOKB №2".

  The seminar included a practical demonstration of products by Oxoid (UK).
