BioVitrum Participates in Seminar "Modern Methods of Diagnostics in Pathological Anatomy: Problems and Prospects"

From April 4-8 BioVitrum participated in a large seminar at the regional diagnostic center in Rostov-on-Don called "Modern Methods of Diagnostics in Pathological Anatomy: Problems and Prospects."

This seminar was held with support from the Ministry of Health of the Rostov region. It was one of the largest events in the IHC sector in the Southern Federal district and more than 70 experts in this field participated. Some notable participants were the president of the Russian branch of the International Academy of Pathology, prof. S.V.Petrov (Kazan); the main pathologist of the Southern Federal District, Prof. I.S. Derizhanova M.D. (Rostov-on-Don); a full member of the International Academy of Pathology Prof. E.A. Kogan M.D (Moscow); Prof. E.M. Nepomnyashaya M.D. (Rostov-on-Don); T.O. Holodnaya Ph.D (Rostov-on-Don); and A.V.Giliarov Ph.D (St. Petersburg). Representing BioVitrum were A.G. Shestakov Ph.D (Sales Director) and Antonina Chernetskaya M.S. (IHC specialist). Not only Russian experts attended but as well international experts such as Dr. Fridman Eddie (Israel).

A fundamental lecture course was held for practicing doctors, as well as a discussion panel where experts could discuss the basic questions and nuances of diagnostic statements, and examine clinical cases. For laboratory specialists the training course focused on manual methods of immunohistochemical colorings and all participants had the opportunity to complete all stages of this process. Also the coloring method on immuno-stainer BenchMark® ULTRA was demonstrated, allowing to completely automate and standardize all stages of immunohistochemical preparation. The seminar ended with a round table in which participants estimated the quality of the preparations and practical laboratory training they received, and summed up the potential value and uses of this new education.

It's difficult to overestimate the role of this seminar. It will be a base for the reception of new knowledge in immunohistochemical analysis, a platform for the acquisition of skills to work on modern equipment, and probably the most valuable - participants had an opportunity to exchange experience with colleagues.

"The seminar which took place at the Regional advisory-diagnostic center is extremely useful as it has united many Morphology experts of the Southern Federal district. The process of carrying out similar actions at the seminar will allow them to introduce the advanced methods of diagnostics to their work. That the lecturers paid a lot of attention to the necessity of improving the quality and standardization of difficult metal diagnostics was very important for me. The perfect structure of the lectures highlighted the most pressing questions of modern pathological anatomy. I wish to express profound gratitude to the organizers of this event which has passed faultlessly", said the main unstaffed expert at Roszdravnadzor in pathological anatomy of the Southern federal district, A.E.Matsionis M.D.
