BioVitrum participates in IV Congress of Russian Biophysicists

This congress took place from August 20-26, 2012 at the Nizhniy-Novgorod State University with international participation.

This symposium is an important and influential even in Russian science and it assembled more than 600 participants, including representatives of basic scientific schools, leading Russian universities, and leading Russian and foreign research institutions.

The program of the congress covered many areas of biophysics and gathered specialists that use the newest achievements of research technologies in the fields of molecular & cell biophysics, membranology, radiation and ecological biophysics, medical physics, photobiology and biophotonics, and biomedical optics.

Within the framework of the plenary lectures Sergey Tolmachev, head of business development at BioVitrum, gave the report “contemporary platforms for biological studies & Interdisciplinary multiplex platforms”.

During the exhibition, contemporary methods of work were represented.

At BioVitrum’s stand it was possible to learn about the latest developments of molecular and cellular analysis, contemporary Andor visualization systems, Nikon microscopy - in particular about their systems of superhigh resolution (which were first installed in Russia by BioVitrum in the laboratory of fluorescent bioimaging, at the Nizhniy-Novgorod medical academy). For interested participants excursions into this laboratory were conducted, several presentations Nikon’s N -STORM were given by Peter Drent, General Manager Nikon Instruments Europe.

Key members of Nikon Russia also gave the report: “Main diffraction barriers: methods of STORM and SIM microscopy of superhigh resolution”
