The II Russian interactive forum of breast cancer diagnosis experts took place in Moscow, on the 10^th and 11^th of October 2015. The forum gathered the leading Russian experts in Pathomorphology and foreign researchers from the USA and Denmark.

The Forum was chaired by the Chief Pathologist of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, Academician, Professor, G.A. Frank and supported by the Russian Society of Pathologists (RSP).

           

The intensive business program of the forum consisted of presentations by Russian and foreign leading specialists. The main issues of the business program were:

 

•  Philip Brenton (Professor, Chairman of the CAP on pathological anatomy and histology techniques) made a report “The main principles of immunohistochemical studies validation on the analytical stage of diagnosis”;
•  Soren Nielsen (Project Manager of NordiQC, Senior Researcher of the Pathology Institute at the University Hospital in Aalborg, Denmark) devoted his report to quality control of immunohistochemical breast cancer research, basic requirements NordiQC;
•  A.E. Matsionis (MD, member of the Presidium of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Academy of Natural Sciences) made a report “International standards of quality morphological and immunohistochemical research in the Russian Federation”.

 

As a part of the Forum was held The Council of Experts for the breast cancer diagnosis in the Russian Federation.

           

Andrey Timofeev, Head of training and methodological department of BioVitrum, made a report “Issues of internal quality control in histological laboratory”.

BioVitrum presented innovative products and services of its own production:

• HistoViewer – a hardware software package, which enables high resolution scanning of histological specimens, subsequent viewing and analysis on a large touch screen.

Within the business program of the forum HistoViewer was used for collective clinical cases analysis of breast cancer and stomach cancer by specialists to exchange their knowledge.

 

According to the forum results was made a resolution of the Experts Board for the breast cancer diagnosis. The expression proliferation marker Ki67 and the morphological tumor regression were described by the specialists.
