On 30^th of May 2014 the conference “Actual questions of microbiology” took place in The State Medical University of Vladivostok.

This first conference gathered 146 participants: bacteriologists, epidemiologists, infectiologists and clinical pharmacologists from the Far Eastern Federal District.

Export regional manager of Thermo Fisher Scientific (Oxoid, Remel), Ricardo de Almeida made the report “Up-to-date methods of diagnosis in bacteriologic laboratory”. Ekimova Olesya, the head of microbiology group, BioVitrum Ltd, held the work-shop in the laboratory.

During the work-shop was the demonstration of the OXOID and Remel products with detailed consultation how to use them.

 Within the framework of the conference the following reports were presented:

• “Epidemiologic and microbiologic features of typhoid in The Russia Federation”
• “Features of wound infection microbiologic diagnosis”
• “Actual questions of yersiniosis diagnosis”
• “Heterogeneity of cholera vibrios, extracted from elements of the environment of Primorski krai”
• “Monitoring of listerial infection in the Far East”
• “Nasopharyngeal carriage of Streptococcus pneumoniae in children in Habarovski krai”
