On November 20^th and 21^st, 2014 BioVitrum took part in the annual certification seminar on Bacteriology, hosted by the Smolensk State Medical Academy. The event attended by 38 bacteriologists from 20 Russian regions.

During this meeting, Olesya Yekimova, the head of BioVitrum’s microbiology group, hold a workshop on Oxoid’s (UK) bacteriological research products with the presentation “Anaerobic infections: Microbiological diagnosis of C.difficile. Culture and rapid diagnostics”. It included detailed information about the use and advantages of Thermo Fisher Scientific’s products (Oxoid and Remel lines) for anaerobic infections, like:

a)      Equipment for separation and culture growth

b)      Pathogen identification materials

c)      Quality control products

On the seminar the bacteriologists had an opportunity to work with the products (Remel, USA), such as RapID, Express-test, X/PECT, and atmosphere generation systems. They appreciated the ease of use and rapid results by themselves.
