On December 13, 2013 in the Pathology Department of the Federal Russian Children's Clinical Hospital BioVitrum held a demonstration of Aperio equipment.  As part of the demonstration participants were given the opportunity to participate and learn about teleconsultations, joint viewing of samples and a discussion of the diagnosis with clinics from all regions of Russia as well as international institutions.  The teleconsultation significantly saves time for diagnosis and allows for timely and targeted treatment of patients. One of the advantages of Aperio machines is the function of digital image analysis that allows you to objectively evaluate a number of important parameters. For example, counting the tumor proliferative activity (Ki- 67), which is extremely important for the prognosis of cancer. The demonstration was attended by representatives from Aperio, the chief physician of the clinic and his deputies, and BioVitrum representatives Pavel Soltan, director of innovative technologies and Victor Bovin, specialist in the direction of telepatholog.  BioVitrum experts gave a detailed explanation of the operation and maintenance of this equipment which will be a good step for further implementation of Aperio in Russia.
