BioVitrum participated in the International Conference PhystechBio-2016

VI International Conference PhystechBio was held on May 24 — 28, 2016 in the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPT). The conference was devoted to topical issues in Life Science, such as drugs development, medical devices, agrobiotechnologies and neuroscience. The scientific program and conference satellite events gathered more than 400 participants, among them were representatives of Russian and foreign universities, research institutes, medical and educational centers, pharmaceutical and medical companies, scientists, teachers, doctors, entrepreneurs and developers. PhystechBio was organized by the BioPharm Cluster "Severnyi" and the Centre of living systems MIPT.

The PhystechBio conference was opened by Alexander Povalko, Deputy Minister of Education and Science of the Russian Federation. In his speech he noted the importance of working on the improving the life quality issues. This work should combine researches in the fields of pharmacology and translational medicine, the development of medical technology and basic research.

The basis of the scientific program was 21st Charles Heidelberger Symposium on Oncology and several sessions in development of NeuroNet, organized jointly with the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biophysics (Novosibirsk). More than 50 speakers presented and discussed the results of recent research in cancer diagnosis and the molecular mechanisms prevention of carcinogenesis, neurooncology, biological aspects of cancer, viral and cancer chemotherapy.

During the conference on the campus of MIPT was working exposition of pharmaceutical, biotech and specializing in medical instrumentation companies. In general, there were presented more than 30 companies.

At the BioVitrum’s booth was demonstrated the Life Science product portfolio, in particular fragment analysis system Fragment Analyzer™, designed to characterize the fragment composition and quantification of DNA and RNA evaluation. This system is based on the method of capillary gel electrophoresis.

BioVitrum’s specialists showed the participants solutions for automated sample preparation of libraries by Beckman Coulter.

- automated laboratory BIOMEK stations;

- Agencourt reagents based on solid-phase reversible immobilization of nucleic acid technology on paramagnetic particles (SPRI);

- kits for RNA and DNA isolating;

- kits for nucleic acids purification.

The great interest of the audience had kits for the gene expression study based on the mRNA. Advanced technologies of NanoString allow making a very precise digital method of detecting gene expression. It is based on direct analysis of the RNA molecules actual number due to its binding to a detectable molecule.

In the framework of the conference was held the poster session with 32 poster presentations in the field of biology, medicine and cross-disciplinary projects.
