BioVitrum participated in the national scientific-practical conference and school "NGS in the medical genetics"

From 22 to 24 of April 2016 was held the national scientific-practical conference and the school "NGS in the medical genetics". The event was organized by the Medical Genetics Research Center. The conference was devoted to the current capabilities of congenital defect diagnostic, using next generation sequencing (NGS) technologies. The event gathered more than 200 participants from 14 cities of Russia: Moscow, St. Petersburg, Yekaterinburg, Kirov, Krasnodar, Novosibirsk, Yakutsk, Tomsk, Syktyvkar and other.

The program of the event included presentations and poster reports of leading scientists and geneticists of Russia. There were discussions on topical issues in bioinformatics analysis, technical approaches to sequencing, clinical data interpretation and clinical guidelines development on the use of NGS in the hereditary diseases diagnosis.

Within the framework of the conference was held the school for young scientists «NGS in medical genetics", attended by over 40 participants. At the event were discussed general issues of sequencing data getting, the doctors and researchers shared their experiences of clinical interpretation of mass parallel sequencing data.

BioVitrum took part in the event. At BioVitrum booth were presented comprehensive solutions for Life Science.

BioVitrum experts consulted the participants, presenting the equipment:

  • Laboratory stations and dosing modules of Biomek;
  • Kits for cancer mutation detection by real-time PCR of EntroGen;
  • Fragment Analyzer — a high-precision control of the preparation quality of NGS libraries;
  • Systems for digital analysis of nucleic acids by barcoding of Nanostring.

A particular attention was paid to the system of a digital multiplex analysis of nucleic acids nCounter SPRINT™ Profiler, combined a sample preparation station and a digital analyzer. Such technology reduces the time and economizes the lab work space.

The conference and school for young scientists caused a great interest among the audience. In this connection, was planned to hold a new school in the autumn of 2016.
