Long history of Sakura in histological laboratories in Russia

Japanese company Sakura is one of the world leading manufacturers of histologic equipment. There, perhaps, hardly exists a laboratory in any developed country around the globe equipped up-to-date and not having an instrument by this manufacturer.

It is traditionally believed that Sakura equipment does not have a long usage history in Russia. Generally it started in 2005 when BioVitrum and Sakura concluded a contract assigning the former the authorized excusive distributor in Russia and CIS countries.

It turns out, though, that some laboratories in Russia have been using Sakura instruments for long giving a special highlight to their reliability and easy operation. The pathomorphology laboratory of the Federal State Institution Russian Cardiologic Research and Manufacturing Complex of the Russian Ministry of Health Care, for instance, has been using 2 Sakura histologic processors of rotary vacuum type for 24 years. During this period the processors have only undergone several minor repairs done by the institute staff and are continuously providing excellent histologic runs. BioVitrum thanks Prof. Valentin Zhdanov and the laboratory personnel for their kind permission to take and publish the below pictures of Sakura processors.
