BioVitrum participated in the First Siberian-Ural Conference on Antimicrobial Therapy

The First Siberian-Ural Conference on Antimicrobial Therapy was held during 2 days (from the 31st March to 1st April of 2016) in Tyumen. Within the framework of the conference were discussed the problems and prospects of modern antimicrobial therapy. The event was based at the West-Siberian Innovation Center and brought together scientists and doctors from Germany, Great Britain and Russia.

Such large-scale conference was held in Tyumen for the first time. The event was attended by about 900 experts from different regions of Russia: obstetrician-gynecologists, bacteriologists, general practice doctors, dermatovenerologists, infectious disease specialists, clinical pharmacologists, cardiologists, neonatologists, E.N.T. specialists, pediatricians, dentists, pulmonologists, therapists, surgeons, urologists and epidemiologists.

The main conference purpose was to review modern Russian and international recommendations for the infections therapy; epidemiology of nosocomial and community-acquired infections; current state of resistance and antimicrobial therapy optimization; pharmacoeconomic aspects of treatment; infection control and strategies for preventing the antibiotic resistance spread; therapy of infections caused by multidrug-resistant pathogens. In the framework of the scientific program were presented reports of leading domestic and foreign experts.

The problem of the increasing antibiotic resistance reaches today dangerously high level in the world. WHO warns: if antibiotics era comes end, and the drugs are no longer effective. That is why urgent action is needed now.

On the booth BioVitrum represented the ready-culture microbiological media in Petri dishes of Russian production company (Sredoff); reagents and consumables for manual techniques OXOID (United Kingdom); complex automation of laboratory research by the equipment of companies such as Biomerieux (France), Alifax (Italy) and ThermoFisherScientific (United Kingdom), as well as laboratory information systems LabForce of Russian development company (Med IT Solution).

      

The relevance and topicality of conference issues already recognized at the state level. In particular, in 2014, Vladimir Putin (the President of Russia) formulated "National Technology Initiative", which provides that NeuroNet will come to replace the pharmacy.

Conference was organized by the Interregional Association for Clinical Microbiology and Antimicrobial Chemotherapy (IACMAC), European Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (ESMID), International Union for the Prudent Use of Antibiotics (APUA), International Society of Chemotherapy (ISC), Tyumen State Medical University, Health Department of the Tyumen region, Institute of Antimicrobial Chemotherapy (IAC) of the Smolensk State Medical University.
